Thoughts of the week

Hi guys,

Have been rather sick for the past 1.5 week (caught a flu from a colleague, and it became a full viral infection after I ignore it for 3-4 days)

I began to regret not seeing a doctor the moment my flu got worse. Because of that, I got to endure dunno how many more days of running nose, "sexy" voice and the worst of all... phlegm.

Anyway I feel that it is rather appropriate to post what I read from the Leadership files by Dr.Phil Pringle. Enjoy and do apply it in your lives!

Rest comes in a deserted place.

Where no people are. (Solitude with God is one of the best way to recharge yourself. Note: THIS IS NOT BEING EMO ALONE)

This is immensely difficult for a leader;
- to come aside from their work,
- to locate in a deserted place alone,
- to remain there for a while,
- to rest, that is to stop working,

However, this is an art that must be mastered, otherwise the leader's faculties will wear out.

They will render themselves useless.

Rest adds up to recovery, creativeness, energy.

Find a deserted place, go there and do nothing.

A miracle will happen!

In other words, Dr Phil is not asking us to be slackers, but to learn how to deal with our worries and burdens in the right way - that is, trusting in Him to help you get the job done once you have already did what you can!

A Burden...
A follower will not understand what a burden of God feels like, as a follower is not willing to carry the heavy burden of responsiblities a leader will have.

Moses' hands were weary but he has his armor bearers holding onto his hands.
A leader needs his/her armor bearers.
I know who are my armor bearers, but yet many arent.

What it takes to be an armor bearer? To me, it is not about "what you have", but rather "are you willing to?"
It is not about "what you can do for your leader" but more on "how much loyalty and love do you have for the one God place above you?"

Only by being a true armor bearer will you then become a true leader.

A self-centred man will never be a leader, the most he can be is a domineering tyrant.

I wonder how many leaders do I have in W300? Or are most of them merely followers?

A thought to ponder for the week.

Ignite Camp 2008!

Well guys, the IGNITE camp is over and I must say that it was a really good time hanging out with all of you guys (more time with you all than Breakaway camp at least...lol)



AND I know that most of you enjoyed yourselves tremendously =D



So without further ado, let me present some of the pictures that David and I took during some parts of the camp. Both of us didn't take alot of pictures as David was away from the camp most of the time (working) and I am busy being the committee of the camp, so the rest of the pictures will most likely be posted in the Ignite Blog (taken by Jackson :))

Optimus Prime and Bubblebee tried to solve the puzzle (to the location of the magical cube) while the crowd looks on nervously.



They finally seek the help from Indiana Jones aka Jiasheng, who solved the puzzle easily.



Final Scene: The Final Showdown


Megatron and Optimus Prime Fights! And Optimus Prime kanna trashed. LOL


But in the end Indiana Jones and Shamini saves the day and Optimus Prime was being destroyed.

Morale of the Story: There are more who are for us than against us.

Happy Labour's Day!!! We had fun today at Sentosa even though it was a really short outing as we are still in the midst of the exams period. =)

Don't worry for those of you who missed the outing, we are going to have MORE beach outings since our members all like the beach for some unknown reasons.
(To Rachel: We will build a great magnificant sand castle after your exams! :))
